NIAGARA JR. KNIGHTS
2025-2026 SEASON
We will be fielding development teams in the U9, U11, U13, U14, U16 and 18U age categories.
Each team will consist of only 12 players (7 F and 5D) and 1-2 goalies.
U14, U16 and 18U teams have the option of carrying more players due absences due to injury and high school sport.
Pre-Novice, U9, U11 and U13 will allow girls only with appropriate skill set.
These teams will train locally and the U9, U11, U13 and U14 teams will enter the ORHL league which consists of league games, tournaments and a Championship. The U14, U16 and 18U teams will also play Prep School Hockey with the NAPHL within Canada as well as in the United Tier 1 Hockey League in the US (only if they can compete at a AA/AAA level).
Optional add-on experience hockey trips will include Prague (Nov 2025), Utah (Feb 2026), Carolina (March 2026).
We will be using local city arenas for practices and games along with our small area arena for small group on ice training and off-ice training at Niagara College.
Local arenas include the Gale Centre(Niagara Falls), The Barn(Allanburg), Chippawa arena(Chippawa) and The Vale Centre(Port Colborne).
Coaching staff are non-parent certified coaches. All players will be insured by IPLAY for all practices, skills, games or off-ice training.
Practice to game ratio is at least 4:1. Goalies receive 2hrs of goalie training for 30 weeks during the season.
Season starts with a training camp in August and runs till April while breaking for Christmas and March break.
Due to our belief in multi-sport athletes, we will not be fielding spring or summer teams and encourage players to play other sport!
The 2025-2026 schedule will be final after all Niagara Jr. Knights try outs have been completed.
Equipment required: white helmet, team hockey bag, game jerseys cover pants by RYR, white/black gloves and active wear.
Tryouts will be held at the Barn at 2350 Gainer Street, Allanburg.

All tryout sessions will only include 4 players and max 1 goalie with 1 coach (except U18 try-outs)
Players will be assessed for skating, edge work, shooting, passing, battle drills and hockey IQ
Only 1 session is required for all new players/goalies at $30 per tryout.
18U players and goalies require 2 try-out sessions at $50 for two tryouts.

All new and returning parents are required to schedule a mandatory meeting with GM Mike Agrette either via zoom or in person after try-outs.

Community ServiceWhat we give back matters most! Every Knight makes it a priority to help give back to our communities from making Christmas cards for Longterm Care Facilities to Community Garbage Clean-up and participating in Hockey Fights Cancer Initiatives.
